1. Information We Collect
When you use VoiceCast, we collect the following information to operate the Service, prevent abuse, and process payments:
- Device Fingerprint & Cookie ID: Anonymous identifiers used to enforce free-tier usage limits fairly, without requiring an account.
- Usage Data: Number of narrations generated, timestamps, provider and voice used, and character count.
- Content Data: A short preview of text you submit for narration, stored for support and abuse-prevention purposes.
- Account Data: If you sign in, your name and email address (managed by our authentication provider, Clerk).
- Payment & Subscription Data: If you subscribe to Pro, our payment processor (Paddle) shares your subscription status and billing period with us. VoiceCast never sees or stores your card details - Paddle handles all payment information directly.
Your TTS provider API keys (Gemini / ElevenLabs) are used only in your browser to call that provider directly - they are never sent to or stored on our servers.
2. How We Use Information
We use this information to provide the Service, enforce free-tier limits, prevent abuse, process subscriptions, and respond to support requests. We do not sell your personal information.
3. Third-Party Services
We rely on the following third parties, each governed by their own privacy policy:
- Clerk - authentication and account management
- Paddle - payment processing and billing (acts as merchant of record)
- Google Gemini / ElevenLabs - text-to-speech generation, called directly from your browser using your own API key
4. Data Retention
Usage and activity logs are retained to support fair-use enforcement and troubleshooting. You may request deletion of your account data by contacting us.
5. Your Rights
